Brown Brothers Harriman Selects Videré Conferencing
For Nationwide Videoconferencing Upgrade
September 13, 2004
Quincy, MA. – September 13, 2004 – Brown Brothers
Harriman, an award-winning provider of global custody, foreign exchange,
securities lending and brokerage services for many of the world’s
most sophisticated mutual funds, investment managers, banks and insurance
companies, has selected Videré Conferencing to upgrade its videoconferencing
equipment and to implement a national video-over IP network connecting
nine of its offices.
With approximately 3000 employees, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is a
global firm with six core business lines, including corporate banking,
investment management, institutional equities, treasury, corporate finance,
and investor services. BBH employees operate from offices in cities around
the world, including Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas,
Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Charlotte, Jersey City, London, Dublin, Zurich,
Luxembourg, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The initial phase of the project was to upgrade equipment in the firm’s
Boston, New Jersey and New York City locations. Videré replaced
the existing equipment and installed a 16 port Tandberg Multi-point Bridge
system and three Tandberg 6000 dual monitor videoconferencing systems
at each location. All systems now run on BBH’s IP network. Videré
also provided customized onsite training and developed materials detailing
best practices. Phase two of the project will include similar upgrades
and training at the remaining BBH sites in the U.S.
“As a long-time videoconferencing user, we recognize the value that
it can bring to an international organization like ours,” said Dennis
McDermott of Brown Brothers Harriman. “Many firms can recommend
and install equipment, but Videré provides us with excellent service and
training so we can quickly take advantage of the improved functionality
and maximize our investment.”
“When it comes to the application of technology to the benefit of
their employees and clients, BBH has a reputation as very forward thinking
and on the cutting edge of what is possible in terms of video communications,”
said Videré Conferencing President Todd Luttinger.
