Kent's involvement in videoconferencing and networking stretches over 25 years across telecommunication and conferencing sales, sales management, and network consulting. He has held sales and sales management positions with AT&T, Ernst & Young, Sprint International, VTEL and Polycom. At VTEL, he served as territory manager for Ohio and as vice president for the Great Lakes region.

Kent graduated from Grove City College with a degree in history and political science.
